Holy Mount Kailash lies in the western part of Tibet. It is one of the most sacred pilgrimage destination in Asia. Hindus regard Mount Kailash as the earthly manifestation of Mount Meru, their spiritual center of the universe, described in ancient texts as a fantastic "world pillar" 84,000 miles high, around which all else revolves, its roots in the lowest hell and its summit kissing the heavens.

Mount Kailash Inner Kora Tour:

Inner Kailash kora starts from the base of Serlung gompa. It is around 2 hours west of Gyangdrak. The trails starts near the chortens behind the monks' residences, climbs the far west ridge 5170 m, then descends to the Serlung chu. The gompa is on the west bank. YOu can have a stunning close up views of Mount Astapada, Nandi parvat, Kailashi Gange, Kuber Kunda, Dakshinmurti Shivalay, Atmalingam and Sapta Rishi Cave. A small temple is upstairs, and residence rooms for monks and nums are on both levels. Up the valley from Selung is the route to Sheldra, site fo the inner pilgrimage circuit of Mount Kailash. Near the base of the mountain was Serdung Chuk-sum, where relics of the former Gyangdrak administratiors were enshrined. Many meditation caves are also found here. The kailash inner kora follows the base of the mountain east to Tsho Kapala, neighboring glacial lakes (Rakches Tal) said to have black water in one and white in the other. According to tradition, only those who have completed thirteen circuits around Mount Kailash are meant to perform the inner circuit (kailash kora) and visit these sacred lakes.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival.
We will pick you up from international airport and transfer to Hotel. We will collect all your passport to apply for chinese visa. You can check in at hotel, free and relax in the evening. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 02: Full Day Kathmandu Sightseeing.
Enjoy your breakfast in the morning and begin your kathmandu sightseeing. Visit: Pashupati Nath Temple, Bouddha Nath Stupa and Patan Durbar Square. AFter your sightseeing you will be dropped down at your hotel. We will have a short briefing our Kailash tour in the evening time. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03: Drive Kathmandu - Kodari - Nyalam (3750 m).
Wake up early in the morning around 5:30 am have breakfast and drive to Kodari (Nepal - China border). Kathmandu to Nyalam is around 145 kilometers and will take around 7 hours to reach to our overnight station. We will reach border in around 5 hours complete all the border formality The road follows the river valleys of the Sunkosi and Bhotakosi rivers, passing through green mountains and cliffs. Depending on the road conditions, we may stay in Zhangmu. If road conditions permit, we will continue 30 kilometers further to Nyalam.

Day 04: Rest Day for Acclimatization.
Free and rest day in Nyalam. This trip of Holy Mount Kailash Tour is done at a high altitude so inorder to adjust our body with an altitude we take a rest at Nyalam. We do hike around the village to prepare for our further journeys.

Day 05: Drive Nyalam - Dongba (4500 m). 350 kms - 6 hours.
We wake up in the morning have breakfast and begin our day drive. Nyalam to Dongba is around 350 kilometers drive which will take 6 hours. Passing through villages called Saga and Paryang crossing Thong-La Pass (5120 m.) and La Lung (5050m) we reach our destination by evening time. Overnight at Dongba.

Day 06: Drive Dongba - Lake Mansarovar (4560 m). 370 kms - 6 hours.
We wake up in the morning take a breakfast and continue our day journey. Today we will drive around 370 kilometers all the way to one of our major destination of Mount Kailash Tour. It is believed that The holiest Lake Mansarovar is the source of four great holy rivers Ganges, Brahmaputra, Sutlej and Indus River. It is said that Lord Vishnu floated in it for an eternity, dreaming, until the life force stirred, and out of the water's infinite potential sprang forth all of creation. Overnight at Mansarovar.

Day 07: Drive Lake Mansarovar - Darchen (4663 m). 35 kms - 1hour.
Mansarovar Lake is a most sacred lake so we take holy bath, interested people can meditate for an hours, explore the beauty of lake, worship etc and in the afternoon we will proceed our further journey to Darchen. About and hour drive will take us to our todays destination called Darchen. Darchen is a base camp of Mount Kailash Kora.

Day 08: Nandi Kora (A part of Inner Kailash Kora).
Today we wake up early in the morning. We either drive or trek to Serlung Gompa and start to trek towards Inner Kailash. The trails starts near the chortens behind the monks' residences, climbs the far west ridge 5170 m, then descends to the Serlung chu. We Cross the pass made in between Kailash Parbat and Nandi We can have a beautiful and close up views of Astaparbat (Astapada), Nandi Parbat, Kailashi Gange, Kuber Parbat, Astamatrikagan Parbat and Dakshinmurti Shivalaya. Reach Sapta Rishis cave and Atmalingam. Decent through the journey of Kailashi Gage and reach back to Serlung Gomba. Further we can drive or trek back to Darchen Overnight at Darchen.

Day 09: Inner Kora To Diraphuk (5050 m).
This day of inner kora begins very early in the morning. We trek around 6 hours all the way to Diraphuk. Today we will visit Mount Kailash from very close. From Darchen the trail ascends a low ridge of moraine topped with prayer flags, where Kailash South Face reemerges above the hills. Heaped besides the trail are stone cairns and offerings of clothing, an act considered auspicious at the most holy of pilgrimage sites. On this ridge is the first of four chaktsal gang, or prostration sites, found around the kora. Pilgrims perform full body prostrations here. Overnight at Diraphuk.

Day 10: Inner Kora To Zuthulphuk (4835 m).
This is another day of Inner Kailash Kora. It takes around 8 hours to reach Zuthulphuk. Across the valley (south) another tributary opens to reveal the snow choked approach to Khandro Sanglam pass. This alternative route around Mount Kailash bypassess Dolma La, which tradition says can be crossed only if you have completed twelve previous circuits around the mountains. You can see rock cairns near the snowy summit via binocular.

Day 11: Drive Zuthulphuk - Mansarovar (Hor Que).
Today is the last day of kailash inner kora. Today we will have breakfast and continue our trekking. It is around 10 kilometers walk and kora ends. Then we will drive all the way back to Mansarovar (HOr Que). Overnight at Mansarovar.

Day 12: Drive Mansarovar - Saga (4200 m).
This day we will have our breakfast and drive continues from Mansarovar to Saga. It is around 231 kms and will take around 6 hours. Upon reacing Saga Free and relax. Overnight at Saga.

Day 13: Drive Saga - Nyalam (3750m).
We return back following the same route all the way back to Nyalam. Upon reaching Nyalam check in at guest house. Free and relax. Overnight at Nyalam.

Day 14: Drive Nyalam - Kathmandu.
We will have our morning breakfast then drive down to border town Zhangmu, cross the friendship and continue drive to Kathmandu. We will arrive kathmandu by evening and transfer to hotel. Free and relax. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 15: Departure.
Have breakfast and transfer to airport for final departure.
