Trek to the Annapurna region starts from the beautiful lake city of pokhara. Annapurna is an enormous Himalayan massif and the tenth highest mountain in the world. In 1950, it became the first 8,000-meter mountain to be successfully climbed. Located to the east of a great gorge that cuts through the Himalayas by the Kali Gandaki River, this mountain range has glaciers on its western and northwestern slopes, which drain into this gorge. For a short trek with few altitude problems, the Annapurna region provides you with unparalleled access to spectacular horizons of snowy peaks, so high that you'll find yourself looking twice before you believe that they are not clouds. As well as providing the views for which the trek is famous, the trail takes you through an ever-changing landscape of rice fields, misty forests and tiny local villages.The walk up to the Annapurna Base camp is a classic walk right into the hear to the mountains.The walk ends at a point where you are virtually surrounded by soaring Himalayan peaks. As per the religious purpose Annapurna is literally derived from Sanskrit name that means “Goddess of the Harvests”.
Annapurna Sanctuary (Base Camp) Trekking in Brief
Annapurna Base Camp Trekking begins from Nayapul which is around one hour drive from Pokhara. Half and hour's walk begins from Nayapul to Birethanti situated at the confluence of modi and bhurung rivers where the route divides. We take the west trail towards Ghorepani, a village situated at the altitude of 2750 meters. Poon hill located on the way at the altitude of 3194 meters in the view point to both Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himal. The views at sunrise from Poon hill are simply stunning. From Ghorepani, the trail leads east to the hamlet of Tadapani and on towards Chhomrong, from where we commence our journey into the Annapurna Sanctuary and onwards to Annapurna Base Camp. The Trekking follows the views of Himchuli and Machhapuchhre.

If they have a very tight travel days and want to trek to Annapurna Base Camp then they can avoid Kathmandu city sightseeing on day 02 and fly to Pokhara on day 03. Instead of this they can direcly drive to Nayapul directly from Kathmandu on day 02.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airpor.
Arrive in Tribhuvan international airport, Kathmandu. Meet our representation at airport and transfer to Hotel.
Day 02: Sightseeing of Kathmandu city and briefing of trekking by our representative.
Have breakfast and get ready for Kathmandu sightseeing. Visit: Pashupati Nath Temple, Boudha Nath Stupa, Kathmandu durbar square and Swayambhu Nath Stupa.
Day 03: Fly/Drive to Pokhara.
After having a breakfast, get ready to drive to airport and fly to pokhara or drive to Pokhara via overland around 6 hours drive. Rest of the day is Free in Pokhara.
Day 04: Drive to Nayapul (1010meters) and trek to Tikhedunga (1540meters) 5:00 hours.
Wake up at early morning and drive to Nayapul which will take about 1 hour. Trek start at Nayapul. After 20 minutes short walk along the banks of the Modi Khola, we reach Birethanti (1080meters) a large village that has many shops and teahouses. From there, the trail continues through the village. The trail follows the north bank of the Bhurungdi Khola. The trail climbs steadily up the side of the valley to Hille at 1520m and after the short climb, we reach Tikhedhunga at 1540meters. Today’s walk offers a short and relatively easy day, during the journey allowing to get use to the experience of trekking in Nepal. Overnight at guest house.
Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani (2840meters) 8 hours.
Leaving Tikhedunga, we begin our journey with a steep climb to Ulleri. Ulleri is a large Magar village at 2080meters. The trail then continues to ascend more gently, through fine forests of oak and rhododendrons towards Banthanti at 2300meters. Then we trek towards Nangethanti at 2450m. After an hour walk we arrive at Ghorepani at 2840meters. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 06: Hike up to Poon Hill (3210meters) and trek to Tadapani (2590meters). 6 hours
Today, very early in the morning, we start an hour hiking to Poon Hill at elevation of 3210meters, a brilliant spectacle; this vantage point provides an unobstructed view of sunrise over the high Himalayas. There we spend about 1 hour, then returning to Ghorepani we take a hot breakfast at hotel. Leaving Ghorepani, we make climb along ridges, and through pine and rhododendron forests to Deurali (2990meters). After that we descend to the Banthanti, then turning off to Tadapani. Overnight at guest house.
Day 07: Trek to Chomrong (2140meters.) 5 hours.
The day starts with steep downhill through rhododendron forests. Leaving Tadapani, we descend steeply through forests and then the trail eases as we reach Gurjung which is the village of Gurung people, with an easy walk to Chommrong at elevation of 2140 meters. Overnight at guest house.
Day 08: Trek to Himalaya (2870meters) 7 hours.
Today the trail drops down to the Chhomrong Khola and again we continue climbing to Khuldighar at 2540meters where there used to be an ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area) Check post. There is a clearing in the forest a little further on, from which, the route travels very steeply down a rock bank then levels out, running through thickets of bamboo at the bottom of the gorge, keeping on the west side of the river then rhododendron forests to Himalayan Hotel. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 09: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4130meters) 7 hours.
Today the trail begins from the himalaya passing through hinku (3170 metres) and deurali and trail climbs on past the Machhapuchhare Base Camp, which isn’t really a base camp since climbing the mountain is not permitted. Since it is totally surrounded by mountains, this area is known as the Annapurna Sanctuary. Two hours trek from Machhapuchhare Base Camp takes you to the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) at elevation of 4130 meters. There, you will view unobstructed views of mountain scenery, which is very spectacular. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 10: Trek back to Bamboo (2340meters) 6 hours.
We follow the same trail down today the trail drops down by around 1700 meters to the bank of Modi Khola to Bamboo at 2340meters where there are few teahouse/lodges available to stay at. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 11: Trek to Chomrong (2140meters) 6 hours.
We follow the same trail all the way down to chomrong. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 12: Trek to Pothana (1890 meters) . 6 hours
From Chomrong trek down passing through Jhinu danda, Landrung, Tolka all the way to pothana. Overnight at hotel.
Day 13: Trek to Dhampus and drive to Pokhara.
This day trail is about 1:30 hour from Pothana to Dhampus phedi. Pack Lunch will be provided on the way and drive from dhampus phedi to Pokhara airport which is about 30 kilometres. Fly back to kathmandu which will take about 25 minutes. Overnight at hotel.
Day 14: Drive or Fly to Kathmandu.
Day 15: Final departure to airport.
