Detailed Itinerary 

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu. Visit Aarati at Pashupati Nath Temple.
Pickup from airport and transfer to Hotel. Get refresh and in the evning drive to Pashupati Nath Temple to visit Aarati of Lord Shiva on the bank of Holy Bagmati River. For the last seven years, it has been part of her daily routine to attend Pashupati Bagmati Ganga Aarati, organized by Shree Pashupatinath and Bagmati Ganga Aarati Sewa Samiti on the premises of Pashupatinath Temple every day in the evening.

 

Day 02: Sightseeing of Pilgrimage Places in Kathmandu.
Morning tour of Pashupatinath Temple and Gujeshowri. After lunch visit Patan Durbar Square, Krishna Mandir and Sleeping Vishnu.


Pashupatinath Temple
Pashupatinath temple is one of the holiest Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Situated amidst a lush green natural setting on the bank of the sacred Bagmati River, the temple built in pagoda style has gilted roof and richly Carved silver doors. Visitors will be permitted to view the temple from the east bank of river Bagmati, entrance in the temple being strictly forbidden to all non Hindus. Pashupatinath is the center of annual pilgrimage on the day of Shivaratri which falls in the month of February/March. Behind the temples are the cremation grounds.


Guhyeshwari Temple
This temple is dedicated to Goddess Parvati. The legend goes by that once Parvati, Hindu goddess and wife of Shiva, was upset with something and decided to end her life. It is believed that Lord Shiva wandered the world carrying the body of Sati Devi, during this process her yoni, the female sexual organ, fell at this place. A small cenotaph was build by some villagers at that place. In the due course the villagers started to worship that figure. King Pratap Malla built the present temple in the early 17th century.


Patan Durbar square and Krishna Mandir
Patan Durbar Square boasts of many famous sites and unique architecture. Krishna Mandir in this Square was built to honor an incarnation of Vishnu. One of the best examples of stone architecture in the world, scenes from Mahabharat, Asia's greatest mythological war, is carved on the temple's walls. Home to traditional artists and sculptors, one can find more temples dedicated to Ganesh (the elephant-headed god), Shiva, Narsingha, Taleju, and others are located at Patan Durbar Square.


Budhanilkantha (Sleeping Vishnu)
Budhanilkantha north of Kathmandu lies a 5 meter tall sleeping Vishnu (Jalasayana, he who sleeps on the waves) in the middle of a small pond. The sculpture from the 5th century represents Vishnu’s sleeping in the cosmic ocean while resting on Ananta Sesa the thousend headed snake.Vishnu is lying with in his four hands the typical Vishnu symbols like the on the picture clearly visible discus (chakra), left of Vishnu’s head. The chakra is Vishnu’s main weapon to fight demons.

 

Day 03: Fly Kathmandu - Varanasi. Visit Aarati of Ganga.
After breakfast free until departure to Varanashi. Arrive Varanashi and transfer to hotel. After short refreshment visit at the Dashashwamedh ghat for Ganga Arrti.

 

Ganga Aarti
Gange aarti takes place at 6.45 PM in the evening after the sunset for around 45 minutes at the Dashashwamedh ghat in the Varanasi. Devotees have started to come to see the Gange aarti at least one hour before. Gange aarti is the magnificent event during evening in the Varanasi that one must not miss to see it. It makes us to experience the great feelings while Gange aarti become in process. This beautiful ritual makes every moment of the evening period special and fills with the spiritual thoughts. It is performed by the brass lamps which accompanied with the mantra chant in the presence of the huge crowd.

 

Day 04: Sightseeing tour of Kashi Vishwanath Temple and other temples in Varanasi.

The Kashi Vishwanath
One of the most sacred temples in India, the Kashi Vishwanath Temple is dedicated to Lord Kashi Vishwanath, one of the many manifestations of Lord Shiva. The temple is believed to be a dedication to Vishwanath Jyotirlinga, one of the 12 sacred Jyotirlingas in the Hindu religion. Walk along the ghats, where you will get a glimpse of the sacred life at the Ganga. Following this you will visit Godaulia, the old city and ancient riverside temples such as the Durga temple, Sankat Mochan temple, Tulsi Manas temple and the Bharat Mata temple.


Day 05: Morning Boat ride on the Ganges and departure to airport.

You will rise early morning, getting ready to experience one of the most memorable moments of your life, as you will be taken for a boat ride on the Ganges. It is at the Ganga Ghats of Varanasi where you get to see both life and death together. Back to hotel and have breakfast. Free until departure and transfer to airport for onward destination.
